Raw Food Appliances For A Raw Kitchen

Many people who wish to adopt a raw food diet think eating only raw fruits, vegetables, sprouts, and herbs might soon become boring, fearing that every meal will consist of only juice and salad.

However, modern raw cuisine can include many different, interesting, and even gourmet dishes by using advanced food preparation tools and techniques. Some kitchen appliances are often considered 'raw food appliances'.

No Dehydrator Needed Raw Food Recipes
These kitchen tools are essential to the raw food diet and are mostly used for preparing complex raw food dishes. With the right appliances you can have a totally raw kitchen, preparing and enjoying breads, chips, sauces, and even pasta - all made from raw fruits and vegetables and even soaked nuts and seeds!

Complex raw food recipes require one or more of a specific group of kitchen tools; the food dehydrator, food processor, blender, juicer, and spiral slicer. Slicing and dicing utensils are also used, but mainly for convenience since you can use kitchen knives to do the same thing.

The food dehydrator and food processor are the most advanced of the appliances in a raw kitchen because they make raw 'flour', 'dough', and 'bread' products as well as chips and fruit/vegetable jerkies out of only raw plant matter.

Blenders and juicers obviously provide liquids and sauces as well as puddings and whipped concoctions; however, combining raw fruits and vegetables in these appliances creates some interesting and healthy blends that nourish as well as they satisfy.

The spiral slicer is most often used in a raw kitchen to create raw 'pasta' from zucchini or other semi-soft vegetables. The 'noodles' mimic spaghetti and are a raw cuisine staple. When you combine these various food elements you can create wonderful dishes that taste great and even mimic cooked food in such a way that you hardly realize the difference.

  Hurom Juicers

The Hurom juicers sort of declare their own category of juicing. The Hurom answers the downfalls of the other top juicers in each category. It is a smaller appliance and is easier to clean. The Hurom 2nd Generation boasts a redesigned and improved pulp ejection outlet on the strainer.

  Juicer Reviews

We reviewed top juicers from the main juicing categories; twin gear juicers, single auger juicers, masticating juicers, centrifugal juicers and centrifugal ejection juicers and chose one of the top performing products. Our major criteria was overall juice quality.

  American Harvest Dehydrator

The American Harvest brand of dehydrators was acquired by Nesco in early 1997 and contain the same even drying, patented system as Nesco's other products. For the money, the American Harvest food dehydrators by Nesco are definitely a great buy.

  Nesco Snackmaster

Of the circular types of food dehydrators, the Nesco Dehydrator stands out from the crowd. With it's patented drying system (which ensures even drying), and the low price point, the Nesco is considered an affordable choice without compromise. Customers say that the lack of digital timer on the unit takes nothing away from the quality of the product.

  Best Food Dehydrators

There are a few important factors that need to be considered before purchasing a food dehydrator. The most important of the factors have to do with drying, of course. See what the main factors are and our top choices for food dehydrators.

  Chen Saladacco Spiral Slicer

The Saladacco Spiral Slicer is a great affordable addition to the raw food kitchen. It's commonly used for making raw "pastas", like my all time favourite, raw "fettucini alfredo".. mmmm... The spiral slicer is responsible for slicing the zucchini just right in order to make the "noodles" for the pastas.

  Excalibur Dehydrators

Probably the most popular food dehydrator among raw foodists, the Excalibur Dehydrator comes in a square shape - much like a conventional oven, has a rear fan for more even drying and an efficient quiet motor. Different models allow for different sized motors and fans, and a different number of trays.

  Food Dehydrators

What's a gourmet raw kitchen without an electric food dehydrator? These appliances separate the chefs from the cooks and expand your options almost limitless as far as what you can prepare. They are great for beginning raw foodists in that they allow you to prepare food that very closely mimics your cooked food favorites.
