Various Methods For Detoxification

The body detoxes each and every day. The amount of detox depends a lot on what you add or remove from your diet. Therefore different diets can encourage rapid detoxification. Essentially when you provide your body with less food, less digestion has to take place, freeing your body's resources to "cleanse". There are several cleansing diets one can do, but the one I will be discussing is the raw food cleansing diet. If you want to learn about the other diet types (some are raw-ish) watch video 1 here.

Ideally, each day, we would want to cleanse only the little bit of toxins brought in throughout the current or previous day, however most people likely have to "push the reset button" to some extent to remove toxins that may have been there for years or even decades!.

The raw food diet cleanse is a great way of pushing that reset button. Although it's not the most restrictive of the cleansing diets, thus not allowing your body the FULL potential for cleansing, it does allow you to pull in a lot of helpful nutrients, plus allow you to go about normal activities. Some more restrictive cleanses may keep you home or bed-ridden until the cleanse is complete.

So, it can be said that raw food not only nourishes your body but also cleanses it at the same time. To assist with the cleanse or to make it more pleasant, a few extra "things" can be done besides the diet change.

For one, you can begin some light exercise. This can encourage sweating which will assist in detox. Additionally, if you were to choose "rebounding" as your form of exercise you will also get the lymph system moving (bouncing encourages movement as it cannot be done naturally since there is no pump on the lymph system). Moving the lymph system can further encourage toxins to move along and be eliminated. Another way to encourage sweating is by spending time in a far infrared or dry sauna.

Using a dry brush can help your largest organ, your skin, to allow more toxins to escape, as they get mixed up during the raw food cleanse. Dry brushing can also encourage lymph movement.

Daily enemas and/or weekly colonics can really help move things along. Some of the organs will dump into the colon during a detox and it can get overwhelming, especially if the colon has an abundance of toxins already, so colon therapy is a big help when detoxing. Also, if your colonics clinic performs this task, you may ask for wheatgrass juice injection to allow your colon to pull valuable nutrients directly into the bloodstream.

Stimulating the immune and endocrine systems which assist in detoxification can be encouraged with alternating hydrotherapy which you can do in the shower by switching from warm water to cold and back. This can open and close the pores helping to eliminate more toxins.

Also, performing a parasite cleanse (using herbal formulas) in conjunction with the raw cleanse and colonics is very beneficial. You know what they say, it's not a question of IF you have parasites, it is a question of HOW MANY and WHAT KIND!

Other than that, drinking lots of water and perhaps including a detox tea to the regime can really flush those toxins out during your detox diet.
