In a recent interview, Matt Monarch and Daniel Vitalis discussed the use of medicinal herbs and foods as part of a healthy diet. Daniel shed some light on what he believes to be a staple for a healthy life.

While it seems that it was long ago established as a staple in the art of ancient chinese medicine, Velvet Antler has seemed to be "rediscovered" in the western hemisphere. It, according to Daniel, (like another Surthrival product: Colostrum) is in the top three of all regenerative substances in all the world.

He notes that no other animal is able to regenerate entire organs the way those with antlers can. He talks about the fact that antlers are in fact living organs and once they are shed, they can be grown back to full inside of three months. He references this as a point to stress the powerful regenerating qualities found there, mentioning that the antlers, while growing, contain lots of collagen, veins, artieries, lymphatic tissue, skin tissue, and bone and marrow tissue.

Now, according to Daniel, when properly harvested and preserved, humans can benefit greatly from the velvet antler. With something like 24 growth factors, Daniel says the velvet antler gets right to work, restoring tissues in the body and stimulating growth, keeping our bodies in a constant state of regeneration.

As for what makes the Surthrival brand unique amongst competitors, Daniel points out, it is the "cleanness and ethics" they set out to do during the harvesting and storage of the product. He notes that the Surthrival brand of velvet antler may be pricier than other brands, but says simply that it is more expensive because of the effort and care that is taken to bring it to it's highest quality potential. Surthrival says they only use the "living tips" of the antler, because, according to Daniel, this is the part of the antler with the highest levels of growth factors and amino acids. He tells us this also allows for his company to harvest this powerful product without harming the animal and keeping the process stress-free.

Surthrival will also tell you that their velvet antler, unlike their competition, comes in a pinkish hue, evidence that they keep the antler living to get optimal results. Other competitors will often take the antler from elk or other animal after it has been slaughtered. So essentially, as mentioned in the interview, the competitors are taking dead organisms and using that in their product. Surthrival takes the living tips, which means they are still living and can confidently say that this gives yet another advantage to their product over anyone else's on the market today. Surthrival also says they take extra measures to ensure the quality of the product is maintained throughout its packaged life. It is carefully preserved with an organic grape oil and is stored in miron glass containers, to keep the product free of harm from light.

When Matt asked Daniel about trying to make the product last a long time, if cashflow was an issue for the end-consumer, Daniel pointed out the most economical way to go, noting that his two Velvet Antler products (Gold and Silver) are no different from one another in which medicinal benefits they provide, there is simply a higher concentration of the velvet antler in the Gold product, and therefore slightly more economical.
